Instead it shows numbers. For example, no 1 button is the square button on the controller. No 2 is the triangle and things like that. Is there any way to get the PS5 layout in the menu instead of generic numbers? [For example God of War PC version shows PS5 controller layout on menus and it was easier to navigate.]

Disable/Enable Steam Input. Launch the Steam client > Go to Library. Right-click on NFS Unbound and select Properties. Click on Controller > Click on āUse default settingsā drop-down menu. You can select āDisable Steam Inputā from the list and try launching Need for Speed Unbound game.
Made it look a little rough. But having a look now, I see there's a mod pack which fixes that. Might as well make it an Underground 1 and 2 remake. Making the 2 cities as one or a city right next to the other would be dope, especially because you could start in one and unlock the next one as you progress in the story.
You have to open the .ini file inside the scripts folder and edit the following line: ImproveGamepadSupport = 0. Change it to 1 if you are using an XBOX controller or 2 if you are using a PS4 controller. That should do the trick and make it work. Also remember to use an official controller, or to use a XInput emulator, otherwise it would not
