It would be nice to team up against bots and play. So if you cannot play split screen and there is no instant action, then no, I will not be buying. Probably will not even rent. If you think about it, once the servers are pulled by EA, you will have nothing but the campaign (no instant action or split screen).
And because Bad Company 2 is super old, chances are multiplayer will be empty, IF it's still a thing, if you think about EA's crappy "this game is no longer up to par to our standards" excuse - the same they used to shut down Need for Speed: World multiplayer servers.
