La Rosière’s premium quality image is well-founded in terms of both accommodation and services, but it clearly has no intention of becoming another Courchevel. RosieL, I'd go to Saas Fee over la Rosiere anytime (budget permitting) and almost anywhere else over la Rosiere anything being equal. Why ? la Rosiere is rubbish. Rubbish snow (South facing, windy / icy), rubbish slopes, rubbish value, really really rubbish mountain restaurants. Great for ski in ski out on boring pistes though.

We did not use ski school, kids club, the pool or spa, neither did we see much of the nightly entertainment. We did see the early evening live music before dinner - overall brilliant. A string quartet and trio of singers in a band, the highlights. There is a free shuttle (large coach) into La Rosiere below.
